80 staff members honored at Kendal-Crosslands

Kendal~Crosslands Communities celebrated eighty of its staff members who reached employment milestones of 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, and even 35 years of service. That represents a total of 1,025 years of service for everyone combined. We feel that the relationship between our employees and our staff is one that is of equality which is one of our Quaker values”, says Phil DeBaun, Executive Director, Crosslands. “It is one of the reasons our employees enjoy working here and residents thrive living here with them”, says DeBaun.

The tenure is quite an accomplishment for the staff members who work in Maintenance, Health, Finance, Dining, Activities, Administration, Transportation, and Environmental Service Departments. Additionally, a special award was given to Hector Collazo, who was honored as the longest standing employee with 39 years of service and was given a national award by the Leading Age organization. Leading Age is a national organization which offers a strong and distinct voice for not-for-profit providers of services for older adults as we all strive to expand the world of possibilities for aging. “Our employees are very dedicated and develop long standing relationships with our residents and that is very beneficial to both residents and staff”, says Rich Lysle, Executive Director, Kendal at Longwood.
